So, emalee.dev officially redirects to this blog!

Despite being used as a redirect only, .dev is still on Chrome’s HSTS preload list and requires a signed SSL certificate regardless of whether it is sending traffic to a secured domain or not.

Um, duh, Emalee. It’s right there in the documentation. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I had already purchased and set up a certificate for emaleesoddy.com or I might have swapped the redirect, but Namecheap offered a promo for a free certificate to pair with my .dev domain and it was super painless to set up via HTTP domain control validation. From what I can tell, the promo is over now, but you can check out Namecheap’s current promos here. #NoAffiliate #NotSpon
